Isaac all dressed up to help me make dinner. |
After running around for a few hours and eating lunch at the food court, we headed home to quickly grab a few things (including our pack-n-play) before heading to our friends' apartment. They had power still and had graciously opened their space up to us so Isaac could take a nap in a warm place and we could hang out. We ended up spending most of the afternoon and evening there. Around 7 p.m. we left to go get a few things at Target. After we got home to pick up things for the night, we noticed that our phones were connected to our wireless and someone had their Christmas lights on! We had never been so grateful to have the power back! It was still in the mid 50s in our apartment when we got all our stuff in, so we turned on the space heater and put on a movie for Isaac to watch until it warmed up enough for him to go to bed.
We were very grateful that our power was only out for one day (and that Andy's office was closed due to the ice). Some of the people in our ward were without power until Monday. We've definitely gone through our emergency preparedness stuff to see what we need to get in case something like this happens again. At the top of our list are hot water bottles, thermal underwear for everyone, and a bigger camping stove (or preferably a grill).
Isaac trying on Andy's ski goggles. We broke out all our winter stuff when the ice came! |
One night while watching a movie Isaac pulled up his shirt and started "nursing" his doggie. |
My little hipster. |
Story time at the library one day was decorating a Christmas tree. Isaac had fun picking out different things to put on as ornaments and coloring everything. |
We got Isaac some new Sunday shoes and he was so in love with him that he would only let us take his church pants off. He kept the rest of his church clothes on all day. |
Since we couldn't go outside to play, we had lots of fun playing with play-doh and finding other ways to keep ourselves entertained inside! |
